Losing any of your valuables is unpleasant, but if you’ve lost an item at Leeds Bradford Airport we may be able to help you get it back.
Did your luggage not come out on the carousel?
You’ll need to contact your airline and speak to their baggage handling agents. Searching for your airline and handling agent contact number should bring you an up-to-date contact number.
Did you leave an item on the plane?
If you have left any of your belongings on board an aircraft then you need to contact your airline directly as soon as possible.
Lost property in and around the airport
If you think you’ve lost something in and around the terminal including our car parks, the best way to contact the Lost Property department is by email and you should provide your name, contact details and a full description of your lost property to:

All emails will be responded to within 5 working days of receipt.
If you ring the Lost Property automated telephone line be prepared to leave a message giving your name, contact details and again a full description of your lost property.

Please note this is an automated telephone line which receives messages only. Messages are retrieved daily, however we will only be able to return your call if we have identified your property.
Collecting airport lost property
Once we have confirmed that we have located your property, we will contact you to arrange for the item to be either posted to you (at your cost) or to arrange an appointment for you to collect the item. Lost property may be collected between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday only.
If you arrange to collect your item personally then you will need to provide valid identification before the property is released. If you wish for someone else to collect item on your behalf, you will need to provide a signed letter of authorisation for them to do so. Please note, arriving at the airport without making an appointment will result in you being turned away.
Property stored by the Lost Property department can be claimed as follows:
Clothing, suitcases, pushchairs, etc.
Will be retained for a period of 4 weeks from the date of loss.
Electronics including mobile phones, laptops, iPads, Kindles, etc.
Will be retained for a period of 8 weeks from the date of loss. For enquiries regarding lost mobile phones, you will need either the IMEI or SIM card numbers. These are not the same as the telephone number and can be obtained from your mobile phone provider.
Miscellaneous valuable items including jewellery, purses, wallets, etc.
Will be retained for a period of 8 weeks from the date of loss.
Credit / debit cards
Will be retained for a period of 8 weeks from the date of loss. Passports will then be returned to the Passport Office and all bank/credit cards will be securely destroyed.
Unclaimed items after the above periods from the date of loss will be disposed of responsibly and personal data removed from property and securely destroyed.
